YOUTH
IN CARE NEWSLETTER
The
Foundation is very proud to support the Youth In Care
Newsletter Project. This is a very successful program
the agency initiated in 2000.
This project provides a youth centered environment in
which the participants improve their ability to express
themselves verbally, in writing, and through drawings
and illustration, resulting in the publication of their
very own Newsletter. This alternative education
model provides opportunities for significant school
credit, while developing both life skills and
employability skills and developing a sense of
self-expression and self-worth. The content of the
program consists of five modules:
-
Creative
Self-Expression: Laying the Ground Work
-
Developing
an Emotional Vocabulary and Identifying Key
Messages
-
The
Art of Interviewing and the Building Blocks of
Writing
-
Writing
articles and Group Decision Making
-
Web
Training
If
you are interested in volunteering or finding out more
about this worthy
endeavor, you will find contact information on the Youth
In Care Newsletter website at -
