Financial support from donations enables the Foundation to provide funding to the Children's Aid Society of Halifax for such  preventive programs such as The Good Beginnings Program, which can make a real difference for many of our community's children.

Helping children when problems are just beginning might spare them serious difficulties later.

The Good Beginnings Program works to enhance families and provides funds for many things such as:

• Summer camps and trips to sporting events
• Swimming lessons and other recreational activities
• Eyeglasses and dental work not covered by MSI
• Transportation costs for parents to attend medical appointments
• Speech therapy
• Parental or family counselling
• Daycare for parents who need to attend training or work
